As I Was A Tennessess Bound
This brought a tear to my eye. I shut off the TV in the background and let this song soak in. I've never been to Tennessee, but I have always felt it in the back of my sub-conscious, calling me home. You have done what a 3 minute song should do-----bring the listener home. |
As I Was A Tennessee Bound Your song is a bit nostalgic , because you voice is nostalgic .... and the subject matter too .... Now you are the songwriter you wished to be and your song is well-done , harmonious and heartfelt ! Peace !! |
The Sun Rises And Sets On You This is absolutely one of the most gorgeous songs I've ever heard. Those words in the chorus are just amazing! My mere words don't do it justice. What a beautiful way you have with words, and the music really expresses to a tee. |
Things Ain't Like They Used To Be
Very good lyrical imagery to move us through this picture show. The grasping at the fly, someones cooking caught in the breeze, the backyard of your youth. Wonderful to counter the new images with your memory. So when the bridge comes in it makes sense about who came before and what they did for us. The second half is priceless. Very moving song lyrically and how you could tie together the theme with the longer ago past with a more recent past/sacrifice is perfect. I hope freedom is in the stars. I am an optimist and hope things get better. This is a beautiful song in it's writing and heartfelt performance. Bravo. |
Things Ain't Like They Used To Be damn romantic.. love the first chord and then the transition to the 2nd chord.. listening to you in my headphones - sounds like i'm in a park.. next to a huuuuge ass stage.. the sound is.. no.. the wall of sound is like a wave... comes and goes .. very inspirational to me.. the waltz style/rhythm brings out smth in the song, i'm just swinging side to side.. |
Things Ain't Like They Used To Be
John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan . . Don Mclean . . and a very few others would be welcoming you to there exclusive club of real soul writers . . and it was this song that just threw you over the line .. the best I've ever heard . . rayski |
Somewhere Along The Way The true tradition of a 60 neo folk genre but ageless. A fine piece balanced right through just drifts along a river of sound in constant flow of meter beautiful compostion cheers Tim |
More Beautiful Than Yesterday
I really like a good song with just an acoustic guitar....but man Jim, your vocal is exceptional here...you have a really nice unforced character that gives this one something special. I am definately reminde of some of the fine folk singers I have heard over the years but don`t remember who I might compare this one to....just very well done......... Coot

More Beautiful Than Yesterday
Passionate tenderness in your voice ! ! ! ! - The French poet Prevert said that .. "if you can't see the beauty , it is because your eyes are bad .." You eyes aren't bad , Jim , nor your voice , nor your guitar ! ! ! I like this song ! ! ! ! ! 10 , & peace ! |
Mama May Your Boy Come Home Just love your songs. Your guitar sounds so clear, and your vocals. Something peaceful about your voice and reassuring just like this song. You sing about things everyone can relate to, and that's the mark of a great songwriter. I love this song! |
Forever To Your Song Love the way you weave a story into the lyrics. I think in the past I've said your style reminds me of Gordon Lightfoot in the way he creates stories in his tunes. Another fine performance and piece of writing. |
